Open Text also secured the 6th spot on the list’s breakdown of fastest-growing tech companies. The list is based on profit, revenue growth rate and total return over a three year period. In March 2008, Open Text was listed in the Canadian Business Top Tech 100 - the publication's listing of Canada's largest-publicly traded technology companies. The key determinants of the rankings are market capitalization and trailing 12-month net sales. The company was selected from an international field of top Microsoft Partners as delivering market-leading customer solutions built on Microsoft technology. The awards were distributed at a ceremony on July 12th in Boston, MA, at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference. Awards were presented in a number of categories, with winners chosen from a pool of more than 1,800 entrants worldwide. The Microsoft Global ISV Partner of the Year Special Recognition Award is given to the global independent software vendor partner that has demonstrated outstanding leadership and is the most valuable global enterprise and medium business partner in delivering Microsoft solutions to our mutual enterprise customers in the past year. Open Text won this award by developing solutions that have significantly impacted enterprise customers' business.
Open Text wins AIIM 'Best Practice' Award
May, 2006
Open Text won the AIIM 'Best Practice' award in the Engineering Category at the AIIM Conference and Exposition, held in Philadelphia in May, 2006. The 'Best Practice' award was created by AIIM to recognize excellence in the field of Enterprise Content Management (ECM), and is presented to both the vendor and the organization using the solution. Open Text and Kichler Lighting, the world's leading supplier of decorative light fixtures, were honored for the Digital Asset Management (DAM) solution created to manage thousands of images that comprise the Kichler catalogue, and the web-based self-service model used to provide the graphics, resulting in a savings of approximately $200,000 annually.

KMWorld listed Open Text in their sixth annual KMWorld's list of 100 Companies that Matter in Knowledge Management. The list is conceived as a way to recognize some of the organizations leading the way in the knowledge economy. It's designed to encourage a broader discussion of KM. Criteria for inclusion differ, of course, as do the technologies recognized, but all companies share the following: Each has helped to create a market, redefine one or enhance one, and all of them demonstrate the capacity for customer-driven agile innovation. Compilation of the list is a year-long, collaborative but informal process with vendors, analysts and colleagues.

The judges gave tough evaluations this year to ensure that companies didn't make the list again just because they were previously on it. The judges wanted to make sure companies made the list because they continue to be innovators in the industry.

Readers rated the companies based on the quality of the company's product they were using and their satisfaction with it. The award is given to companies that provide DM Review readers the products and services that give them a competitive advantage. Open Text received numerous ratings of satisfactory or above on this year's survey question on overall customer satisfaction. Red Herring announced in December that Open Text was selected as one of the Red Herring Small Cap 100. Over 2,500 technology companies that have between $3 million and $1 billion worth of market capitalization from North America, Asia-Pacific, and Europe were evaluated by Red Herring judges. "The winners on this list are the most competitive, the most innovative, and the most promising technology companies in the small-cap segment. We hope that the Red Herring Small Cap 100 list will shine the light on them that they deserve," said Joel Dreyfuss, Editor-in-Chief of Red Herring magazine.

Open Text received ECM Connection's prestigious ACE Award in the category ECM Software Vendors— Enterprise-Class Solutions. The award was presented at the AIIM ON DEMAND Conference and Exposition, held in Philadelphia in May, 2005. Judged by a panel of industry analysts and editors, the ACE Awards recognize vendor commitment to helping users and/or integrators make informed decisions about ECM solutions, enterprise adoption and deployment. Entries were judged based on appeal of vendor solutions, content of marketing information, and education. Open Text won for its innovative and comprehensive ECM Solutions; its valuable information resources offered on its Web site (www.opentext.com) and in its marketing collateral; and the company's outstanding outreach programs and services.
Open Text Solution Named Trend-Setting Product of 2005 by KMWorld Magazine
September, 2004
KMWorld Magazine named Open Text's communities of practice solution one of its Trend-Setting Product of 2005 in its September issue. According to KMWorld Editor-in-Chief Hugh McKellar, the magazine evaluated more than 200 vendors and some 1,200 products and solutions before choosing its winners. A panel of editors, analysts and users - from "C-level" executives to entry-level knowledge workers - participated in the evaluation process. "We looked at the most important criteria for any solution: Usability, flexibility, adoption rate and total cost of ownership. We also recognized some vendors for their vision toward the future," said McKellar. Open Text's Livelink ECM Solution for Communities of Practice provides a central workspace where community members can publish relevant news, share documents, and arrange online meetings and Webcasts. Community members can also participate in member blogs, which include RSS (really simple syndication) feeds so that members can subscribe to information and tailor the content they receive to what is most relevant.
Open Text Wins 2004 Basex Excellence Award

Open Text received a 2004 Basex Excellence Award for Version 9.2 of Livelink from leading technology research and consulting firm Basex. The award honors organizations for their leadership and technological innovation in the field of collaborative business knowledge. Basex presented the award to Open Text and five other winners at the Basex Strategic Thinkers conference, "Building Portals and Collaborative Business Environments 2004," which was held June 8, 2004, New York City. Open Text received the award for Livelink 9.2's new collaboration features and for Livelink Companion, which bridges communities of people within an organization.

Open Text was ranked 11th in Business 2.0 Magazine's list of the 100 fastest growing technology companies worldwide. The list is created from a pool of more than 2,000 publicly traded companies. The selection is narrowed to those with at least $50 million in revenues, and positive cash flow from operations in the most recently reported 12 months. Companies are then ranked using a rigorous combination of financial criteria: Growth in revenue, profit and operating cash flow during the past three years, and the 12-month stock market return.

Infoworld 100 Award for the U.S. Equal Opportunity Employment Commission'sLivelink Solution

InfoWorld Magazine has honored the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) with an InfoWorld 100 Award for a Livelink solution developed in conjunction with Momentum Systems, an Open Text Global Alliance Partner. This year's InfoWorld 100 awards honor IT initiatives making use of innovative technology to further their organizations' goals. The EEOC received the award for its Correspondence Tracking System (CTS). Based on Open Text's Livelink, the award-winning solution converts paper documents to electronic format in compliance with the Government Paperwork Elimination Act.

The Canadian Technology Fast 50 annually recognizes the 50 fastest growing technology companies in Canada based on compound rates of annual revenue growth during the previous five year period. The list of companies includes public and private companies in all technology segments including, biotechnology, semiconductors, Internet, software and communications. To be eligible, companies must have been in business for a minimum of five years, have had 1994 revenues of at least $75,000, and 1998 revenues of at least $1,000,000, and be legally incorporated and headquartered in Canada.

The Crossroads Awards, sponsored by Open Systems Advisors (OSA), Inc., distinguish the best new enterprise solutions, with particular focus on solutions that support the complete business process, from the supply chain through the back office, all the way to customer interaction. Livelink was an obvious contender for this award because of its ability to provide an industry-leading integrated system, instantly deployable, out of the box.

Livelink has been awarded the Editors Choice distinction by Computer Reseller News (CRN). The Editors Choice award is granted by the CRN test center, with products being judged on both their technical and channel program merits.
Among many technical highlights, CRN notes that Livelink separates itself from the competition by taking a different approach to enterprise document management. Instead of simply managing the documents themselves as did other products reviewed, Livelink focuses on the contents of documents, creating a true knowledge management system. CRN was also impressed by Livelink 8's powerful search engine, and its logical and intuitive interface with customizable icons and drop-down menus.
